- This study aims to understand and analyze the main educational policies, their impacts, challenges, and contributions to the development of the education system. To support the investigation, we opted for qualitative exploratory research as a methodology developed through documentary and bibliographical research. The results provide a linear overview of the educational policies implemented in Brazil from the promulgation of the 1988 Federal Constitution until 2021. By highlighting the critical points of educational history, the aim is to encourage reflection on contemporary challenges considering past experiences and stimulate the implementation of new educational policies. Thus, it is emphasized that the history of Brazilian education is not only a record of the past but also a guide to the present and future actions, an invitation to reflection and action in favor of transformative education.
