This volume gathers the peer-reviewed papers presented at the first edition of the International Workshop “Service-Oriented, Holonic and Multi-Agent Manufacturing Systems for Industry of the Future - SOHOMA Latin America 2021” organized during January 27–28, 2021, by the Industrial Engineering Department of Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia, in collaboration with the Universidad de la Sabana, Colombia and the Colombian Computing. The organizers received scientific support from Polytechnic University Hauts-de-France, France, University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania and Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal. The main objective of SOHOMA Workshops is to foster innovation in smart and sustainable manufacturing and logistics systems and in this context to promote concepts, methods and solutions for the digital transformation of manufacturing through service orientation in holonic and agent-based control with distributed intelligence. Following the workshop’s technical program, this book is structured in six parts each one grouping a number of chapters describing research in the lines of the digital transformation in manufacturing, supply chain and logistics, and human integration in the industry of the future: Part 1: Smart production control for Industry 4.0, Part 2: Digital twins and artificial intelligence applied in industry and services, Part 3: Digitalization of design and planning activities, Part 4: People and industry in the era of Society 5.0, Part 5: Logistics and supply chains and Part 6: Optimization in manufacturing and services.
