To increase the strength and the energy absorption capacity of concrete elements submitted to compression loading, concrete cylinder specimens of 150 mm diameter and 300 mm height were confined with strips of wet lay-up carbon fiber sheet (CFRP). To assess the influence of the width and number of CFRP strips, and the number of CFRP layers per strip in the concrete compression strength and ductility, distinct confinement arrangements were applied. The main results obtained are presented and analyzed in the present work.
