  • The authors are grateful to the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT, Portugal) for financial support by national funds FCT/MCTES to CIMO (UIDB/00690/2020).
  • This work aims to identify the clusters of research thematic areas within the scope of the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Agriculture. To achieve this objective, a search based on the words "Infor-mation", "Communication", "Technologies", "Challenges" and "Agriculture" was conducted in the Scopus database considering the period 2010 to May 2020. Later, the VOSviewer software version 1.6.14 and the word co-occurrence technique were used to carried out a bibliometric analysis based on 91 peer-reviewed publications. The results revealed the existence of two thematic areas. The first one emphasizes the importance of knowledge and the acquisition of skills by farmers. In this context, the use of ICT allows the development of a more sustainable, efficient and innovative Agriculture. The second thematic area refers to the “Internet of Things”. In this context, Inter-net and other technologies are associated with Agriculture in order to mini-mize the risk of agricultural activities management, to achieve time and cost savings, to increase farms productivity and, to minimize the environmental impact of agricultural activities.
